Dr Lucy McGeagh of The Oxford Cancer Care Research Group has asked UKAOS to share this marvellous opportunity to under take PhD study exploring the acute oncology pathway to improve support for patients.
The ACUTE study. Optimising support for acute oncology patients: a mixed methods study with health care professionals and patients
This novel PhD aims to understand what it is like to experience the acute oncology pathway, for patients, acute oncology staff and other Health Care Professionals (HCPs) who interact with acute oncology patients, identifying unmet patient needs, understanding HCPs' views and experiences of service delivery, and exploring where improvements could be made. This is an incredibly exciting and important area of research, and would be suited a researcher with experience of cancer, health care or health services research or a health care professional with research experience
This is based at Oxford Brookes University, and will begin in September 2024. The deadline for applications is 8th April.
